US Shipments and Duty Bulletin - Update: January 2026

Update: January 2026

Following extensive testing on duty payments incurred to customers following the the 2025 new tariffs we are please to confirm that USA customer do not need to pay import duties on orders from GPUCONNECT.COM moving forward.

In order to to this, all shipments to the USA will be provided by our Royalmail shipping service which hands over to USPS.  As a result we no longer provide express shipping options (Fedex, UPS, DHL etc), this is unfortunately as a result of the blanket tariff they add to the shipments and excessive handling charges which prevent their services being cost efficient for us or our customers.

Rest assured, our average shipping times to the USA remain under 1 week door to door, and we have found this service to be the most reliable and cost effective for our customers.

How is Duty Collected for customers in the USA?

For customers placing an order, duty is collected at checkout in order to ensure you do not receive surprise duty bills on import following the removal of the $800 de minimis rule.

Duty will be calculated automatically based on the product selected, and billed at checkout.  We will be providing this payment to Royal mail for international shipments.  Duty is calculated automatically at 25% Section 301 tariff + base duty for product made in China.

For USA customers - If you are charged duty on any order placed in 2026 please let us know so we can reimburse you.

We welcome any feedback following this implementation and thank our USA customers for their understanding during this period!

Background

  • From 28th August 2025, new US tariffs mean all goods will be charged duty at customs.
  • Previously, most small shipments were duty-free (under $800). That rule has now ended.
  • To protect customers from unexpected customs bills or “surge charges”, we are testing a transition from Delivery Unpaid (DUP) to Delivery Duties Paid (DDP) shipping.   Duty will be collected at checkout.

What has changed?

The US government has removed the $800 duty-free threshold for imports from the UK. From 29th August 2025, all parcels entering the US will be subject to customs duty and tariffs based on the product type and country of manufacture.  We manufacture many of are cables and custom products in the UK, however pre-build parts including fans are made in China.

Currently, GPUCONNECT ships using DUP (Delivery Unpaid), meaning duties (if any) are billed directly to the recipient (For customers outside of Europe). With these new rules, that could mean unpredictable costs at the doorstep.

To prevent customers from being hit with surprise fees, we are working to transition to DDP (Delivery Duties Paid) — where duties are calculated and paid upfront, so you know the total cost before placing an order.
