What is the 12VHPWR / 12V-2x6 connector?

The 16-pin PCIe power connector was introduced with ATX 3.0 to provide up to 600W of power through a single compact connector. It combines 12 power contacts and 4 sense contacts to allow compatible graphics cards and power supplies to negotiate the available power.

The latest revision of this connector, commonly referred to as 12V-2x6, uses H++ identification markings and is fully backwards compatible with existing 12VHPWR equipment. It is designed for compatibility with modern ATX 3.1 power supplies and the latest NVIDIA RTX graphics cards, while continuing to support earlier compatible hardware.
