Prevent damage to your inverter by slowly allowing internal capacitors to fill by connecting the pre-charge resistor for ~10 seconds via the battery positive terminal prior to full connectivity. This prevents a large spike in current potentially damaging the internal circuitry. This resistor provides a 30ohm resistance with a max 50Watt of power which is suitable for most inverters.
